Vacature omschrijving

The Sr. Civil Engineer will be responsible for:

for civil/structural designs (i.e., Structural Steel, Concrete Foundations, Piling, Pipe Supports, etc).

to supervise designers to develop and assemble contract packages in accordance with the project schedule.

to assist with the Scope development during a Project Definition Phase

to develop Civil Design Packages using SP3D modeling software as well as Microstation.

to create all required project documentation, including Civil Drawings, Demolition Photo Documents, Civil Job Instructions, etc.

to provide overall responsibility for Code compliance and Structural Steel connection approval

to work independently and / or lead projects utilizing multiple Civil Designers, interfacing with construction, manufacturing and maintenance personnel, other engineering disciplines, vendors, and suppliers as needed

to create electronic drawings to scale indicating coordinates, dimensions, material specifications, and other standard information

to plot drawings and organize packages according to package standards before delivering to client.

to support Civil Construction activities with clarification and/or technical support

to optimize resources and allocation

to monitor discipline performance and identify gap closure plans

to drive performance improvements for the discipline.

He/She will function mainly as a lead engineer on small to intermediate sized projects (up to $10MM) at a variety of plants

He/She must be able to do field work in an operating chemical plant, take field measurements, climb stairs and ladders.

He/She is responsible for civil/structural design i.e., Structural Steel, Concrete Foundations, Piling, Pipe Supports, etc.

Je profiel

In this role as Sr. Civil Engineer the right candidate should have:

a Bachelor degree in Civil/Structural engineering

Required is a minimum of 5-10 years civil/structural engineering experience in capital/expense projects

Prefered is prior experience in the Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, or Energy industry.

Ability to work with a wide variety of personnel, including other detail design disciplines and personnel from diverse cultures.

Proficient use of Civil Engineering Design tools is required. (i.e. SP3D modeling software as well as Microstation)

Experience in managing priorities and timelines simultaneously

Excellent communication (written and oral in English) and interpersonal skills

Strong team player

In possesion of VCA is preferred

Six Sigma certification is preferred.
