Construction supervisors

The Construction Supervisor has a delegated responsibility for construction management during the implementation phase of mainly regional newbuild and renovation projects for existing gas and oil pipelines. The Construction Supervisor, where necessary, provides operational guidance to other supervisors or to the contractor / chief executives.

The main tasks and responsibilities are to guide and supervise the contractors' construction activities, ensuring they are carried out safely, at a high standard, within the schedule and budget and according to the various contracts.

The duties of a Construction Supervisor include:

  • Anticipating and recognising where bottlenecks may occur during construction, and, in doing so, being accountable for optimal implementation in relation to the above-mentioned aspects.
  • Preparing activities by, for example, evaluating and correcting an implementation plan.
  • Evaluating the engineering (execution) packages for completeness and feasibility and participating in constructability reviews etc.
  • Acceptance of (quality of) work, by card-punching, pre-commissioning, handover, (MC) and as-built documents.
