Your role:
Responsible for technical assurance, technical advice and support of design and execution of the Civil engineering activities relating to the specific scope of the project
Job responsibilities:
You will be part of a small and enthusiastic site-based SP&O team
Ensure design is carried out in compliance to Project Specifications, Codes & Standards and applicable local regulations.
Interact actively with counterparts from the Integrated Project Management Team and other Project Pillars to establish scope definition and agree interface information relating to Civil discipline matters.
Coordination with Contractors design team on technical matters.
Monitor all civil engineering design and procurement work performed by Contractors. Site visits will be part of the job, to understand the situation in the field.
Assess and review design documents and construction packages made by external design contractors ensuring companies Procedures and Standards are adhered to and implemented.
Liaise and coordinate with other departments within the Project One organization to ensure that the design meets the expectation of these departments
Ensure deviations and waivers to Project standards are formally documented and approved.
Assess and review work packages for compliance, completeness and constructability.
Where possible, propose alternative materials and / or working methods
Co-managing the design contractor in the process from basic design to Final Design, RFQ and RFC packages
Participate in internal and external meetings.
Participate in design and constructability reviews.

An engineering degree in civil engineering or equal
Willing to work in a small, flexible and enthusiastic international team
A valid VCA VOL certificate and a good safety awareness
Minimum 10 years of design and work experience in the (petro-) chemical sector and proven track record of working in similar positions.
Knowledge and experience on Eurocodes, Belgian National annex and International Standards
Clear experience in working in or with design contractors
A desire towards the development of the design of the SP&O related projects
Strong affinity with the execution of construction works.
Include your experience into practical designs and construction packages.
Knowledge of the design of roads, earthworks, sewer systems, underground fire water system and civil concrete works
Knowledge of temporary works design.
Good understanding of English in speaking and writing and fluent in Dutch
Critical and sharp attitude to identify omissions in design
