The lead engineer will provide supervision and leadership to a large team of researchers which may include multiple sites. In addition, this role is accountable for identifying and retaining top talent for the organization, managing research projects portfolio, and expense budget for the organization.
Core Responsibilities:
Provide supervision and leadership to a large group of research employees which may involve multiple sites.
Oversees implementation and delivery of work group projects, ensuring delivery against project milestones and objectives. Ensures the use of sound scientific methods, and excellent project documentation and communication.
Accountable for talent identification, attraction and retention within department; and creating a high performing team focused on innovation and delivery against research goals.
Champions the use of NPI for project management and execution.
Actively network with PU TS&D, Process R&D, Core R&D on research projects and product implementation aligned to business strategy.
Manage a prime expense budget.
Champion IP strategies on project of responsibility and drives execution of IP filings.
Network and collaborate with other business and technical groups within Dow, other functions, and external resources (universities, customers) to support existing products/projects and generate and exploit new ideas and opportunities.
Champion of inclusion and diversity within the team.
Serves as the Environmental, Health & Safety advocate for work group, ensuring understanding and adherence to policies and procedures. Leads team in promotion of best safety practices, habits, and behaviors.
Je profiel
Bachelor or Master degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, material science or related field
Six Sigma Green Project Leader Certification
A minimum of 7 years of Research & Development experience.
A minimum of 3 years people leadership experience
Proven leadership attributes.
Strong safety mindset.
Prior experience and knowledge in relevant area of technology.
Good influencing skills necessary to drive alignment of goals, resources, accountabilities in order to meet business objectives.
Ability to identify and recruit top talent into the organization.
