For a chemical multinational we are hiring a Materials Specialist
We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Specialist, to join the Fixed Asset Integrity team in Terneuzen, The Netherlands.
As a Materials Specialist you provide technical support to asset owners and the inspection department. In this role you are a valuable contributor regarding reliability, integrity, and safety of our process installations regarding material choices and prevention of failure mechanisms.
We are looking for someone is willing to act as a knowledge carrier and has great willingness to learn.

Responsibilities.
• Perform examinations and failure analysis for the Terneuzen facilities and document findings in a report.
• Participate in root cause investigations with regards to fixed asset equipment damage.
• Job scope/package evaluations regarding the choice of materials.
• Participate in RBI corrosion study assessments and FMEA’s (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) of different pressurized equipment.
• Perform audits on contractor companies.
Je profiel
• Minimum: completed bachelor's degree, materials, mechanical or chemical engineering.
• Technical knowledge and practical experience of materials and their corrosion mechanisms and available protection methods.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the petrochemical industry.
• Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English.
Preferred qualifications:
• Practical laboratory experience with performing independently failure analysis. (Preparing samples, etching samples, evaluating microstructures)
• Affinity with corrosion mechanisms.
