For our client in Ghent we are hiring a Project Manager Buildings.
As part of a industrial newbuild project, several new building infrastructures need to be developed, e.g. Grid Intake station, Social building, Warehouse, Workshop(s), Steelmaking plant building, several utility buildings (pump rooms, substations, etc.).
• Responsible for the project management of the scope related to new building infrastructures (>80M EUR)
• You collaborate closely with EPCM and permitting partners (reviewing schedules for deliverables, formulating civil scopes, enforcing D&E standardization).
• You ensure integration and validate brownfield adaptations as applicable.
• You conduct reviews and approvals for documents, drawings and request for change.
• You enable periodic internal reviews and coordination with stakeholders to address gaps and follow-through resolution.
• Proactively escalate any project governance issues that are creating a barrier to project delivery in a timely manner and make suggestions for how they might be brought back to plan.
• Drive continuous process improvements through the project lifecycle, by using lessons learnt and identifying opportunities.
• Analyse improvement areas identified via maturity assessment, evaluate use cases & prioritize and propose actions.
• You will support and report to the SMP project delivery lead of the GP project.

Technical skills• Experience in working with EPCM or EPC companies
• Expertise in Project Management
• Goal oriented, results driven, takes initiative, leadership and attention to detail
• Effective communicator, with ability to deal ability to proactively deal with senior executives and stakeholders, persuading them to meet deadlines
• Proven people management skills
Job experience / other skills
• +5 or +15 years’ experience as a Project Manager in a similar role (medior/senior profiles)
• Relevant experience in any of these domains is required:
- KB Attachment 6 (Belgian legislation related to fire safety by design);
- EPB (Belgian legislation related to energy measures);
- Permitting procedures;
• It’s a plus if you have: mining/metal sector knowledge and professional certification in PMI or Prince2.
• Master/Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent professional technical education.
• Languages
- Project language is English;
- Knowledge of the Dutch language is a prerequisite;
• Others:
- Regular travels to Spain or other European countries (Madrid, Bilbao);
