The Rotating specialist is accountable to ensure a high level of reliability/availability of critical rotating equipment in compliance with the refinery objectives, HSEQ, costs, regulations and standards.
He/she reports to the Team Leader Rotating Cell and is responsible for developing and implementing the maintenance strategy of critical (availability) rotating equipment (major pumps, compressors, turbines in essence). Part of the responsibilities are spare part policy, monitoring requests and providing technical
expertise in revamps and capital projects for such equipment.
The job holder will challenge and optimize Maintenance works and will define QA/QC requirements durinq execution of Maintenance activities as well as revamp and capital project activities.
Maintenance:
Manage the condition monitoring of the machines and the coordination of the resulting activities with routine maintenance, machine contractors and production in order to continuously improve the reliability / availability
Develop methods for recording of machine history and a rotating equipment database in the department
Proceed with the development, improvement and implementation of testing methods, testing and inspection schedules, procedures, specifications for rotating equipment including documentation of results
Define, implement and follow up all necessary measures to improve the maintenance strategy
Review and evaluation of contractors for rotating equipment incl. audits, quality management
Define the spare part strategy and optimize the warehouse inventory
Perform technical trainings for Rotating Equipment
Technical support for production, operation, inspection, investment, purchasing and maintenance
Preparation of root cause failure analysis in close co-operation with IND and other refineries
Collaboration with third party companies, machine manufacturers and research facilities
Projects/Shutdown/Turnarounds:
Providing technical input as rotating specialists in all phases of engineering for revamps and capital projects
Make sure the Refinery objectives are taking into account by vendors (OEM) and suppliers (Spare parts, technical support etc.)
Ensure the proper preparation and execution of related works for intermediate shutdowns and turnarounds. Create, follow up and analyses the planning, schedule, budget, logistics and execution.
Providing technical expertise to the shutdown planning team
Preparation of the scope (methods, scope of work, planning of repeating work packages)
Cost Management:
Analyses costs on short and longer term and in case of deviations of the budget, decides on corrective measures, in cooperation with the cost center owners, in order to prevent budget overruns.
Reports:
Defines and follow-up Maintenance KPI reports in accordance with Team Leader Rotating Cell.
Reporting of progress on a regular base to Maintenance team and Maintenance Manager
Section annual plan and budget:
Makes the annual plan and associated budget for his section on the basis of the Maintenance strategy.
Ensures the realization of the annual plan within the objectives of the refinery
Communication:
Takes care of timely and correct exchange of information in the department about relevant activities to ensure a good level of cooperation between different sections and departments to reach a safe and efficient execution of Maintenance activities.
HSE, Legal requirements:
Signals non-functioning provisions in relation to Safety and Environment.
Signals when unsafe working with work equipment and organizes training for workers.
Makes sure work is done in line with pertinent legal requirements.
Maintenance programs have to be managed in liaison to specified Guide and Manuals (GM’s)
