The role:

Guiding and coordinating technical activities related from definition, procurement, engineering until installation of Electrical & Automation systems for new ship designs and for maintenance or refits. Will be ultimately responsible for the desired quality and timely delivery of subcontracted work packages during execution of small/mid-size projects.

Key accountabilities:

Supports the Electrical & Automation engineering group on sustained performance by delivering quality engineering products within budget and on a timely basis.

Coordinates and facilitates the subcontractors & suppliers contribution to the project(s) during preparation and execution.

Takes ownership of the assigned projects to drive targeted results for schedule, quality and costs.

Ensures full compliance with all applicable requirements and specifications, imposed by the company and the customer.

Organises and/or participates in project reviews.

Secures the execution and synchronisation of project activities related to all deliverables and obligations of the Subcontractor(s).

Participates during contractual milestones, tests and trials (FAT, HAT and SAT) as accepting party.

Assists the warranty authority on all warranty issues that have been identified;

Advices the proposal department on proposals for new projects and/or new systems.

Supports proposal evaluation(s) by doing technical evaluation and cost/price analysis.

Ensures all HSEQ policies and procedures are in place, understood, owned, maintained and followed to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

Je profiel

Skills & experience:

University or other relevant professional education: related to the engineer discipline.

For mandatory safety training: see training matrix.

Five (5) years’ experience in hands-on acting with engineers, suppliers / subcontractors staff, and project and program managers in (naval) shipbuilding or a related industry.

Vast engineering experience and broad knowledge of electrical installations and automation systems, preferably in ships or offshore installations.

Project Management skills on basic level.

Hands-on experience in manufacture & subcontract management of complex systems.

Expertise in a variety of engineering concepts.

Experience of working in mid-size project environments.

Used to work on Class-regulated products.

Good command of the Dutch and English language (written and verbal).

Ability to frequently travel long distances and work abroad for longer periods.
