We have an exciting opportunity for a Materials Specialist, to join the Fixed Asset Integrity team in Terneuzen, The Netherlands.
As a Materials Specialist you provide technical support to asset owners and the inspection department. In this role you are a valuable contributor regarding reliability, integrity, and safety of our process installations regarding material choices and prevention of failure mechanisms.
We are looking for someone is willing to act as a knowledge carrier and has great willingness to learn.

Responsibilities.
Perform examinations and failure analysis for the Terneuzen facilities and document findings in a report.
Participate in root cause investigations with regards to fixed asset equipment damage.
Job scope/package evaluations regarding the choice of materials.
Participate in RBI corrosion study assessments and FMEA’s (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) of different pressurized equipment.
Perform audits on contractor companies.
Your qualifications
Minimum: completed bachelor's degree, materials, mechanical or chemical engineering.
Technical knowledge and practical experience of materials and their corrosion mechanisms and available protection methods.
Minimum 5 years of experience in the petrochemical industry.
Ability to effectively communicate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Fluent in Dutch and proficient in English.
Preferred qualifications:
Practical laboratory experience with performing independently failure analysis. (Preparing samples, etching samples, evaluating microstructures)
Affinity with corrosion mechanisms.
